Which store do you think Express or The Limited has clothes like New York & Company and Banana Republic?

Which clothing store, Express or The Limited have clothes that resemble the same type style clothes as Ann Taylor Loft, New York & Company and Banana Republic? Also, is the style of Express younger than these stores or about the same, and is the style of The Limited younger than these stores or about the same?

The Limited is most like all those other stores. Express is more glam and glitz and they’re outrageously expensive. I think they both have some of the same styles in the career clothing. Limited is geared towards the business woman.

What are the names of the Haunted Attractions in New York that are featured on The Travel Channel?

I remember watching The Travel Channel last year and see the list of scariest haunted attractions. There were a couple in New York, but I can’t remember what they were. Does anyone know?
I’m asking about the haunted attractions they do on Halloween, like haunted houses, mazes, hayrides, etc.

The Hotel Chelsea, commonly known as The Chelsea, in New York City was featured on The Travel Channel’s "Haunted Travels: Haunted Hotels." Here is a description I found on the Travel Channel’s website: "In addition to its storied occupants, the 12-story ‘cauldron of creativity,’ erected in 1884, is also known for its ghosts. Janis Joplin once rasped, ‘A lot of funky things happen in the Chelsea.’ Indeed. Actress Sarah Bernhardt reportedly slept in a coffin while living here. Thomas Wolfe’s presence has been felt on the 8th floor, while the spirit of Dylan Thomas, who drank away his final days at the Chelsea, seems to have stayed long past check-out time. Board the east elevator and you may share a lift with the ghost of Sex Pistol Sid Vicious, suspected of stabbing his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen, to death in room 100. Roughly half of the Chelsea’s rooms (no two alike) are occupied by long-term residents, meaning your neighbors may be a bit more eccentric than your typical chain hotel clientele."

The Amityville Horror House — the house that birthed the movies — was featured on "America’s Haunted Houses." It is located in Amityville, New York, on Long Island. The house is notoriously famous, as demonic voices drove Robert Defeo to murder his entire family in their sleep. Visit the HOUSE’S website here: http://www.amityvillehorror.com/ The website has no affiliation with the movie.

Unfortunately, I am unable to find any information on New York Halloween attractions via the Travel Channel.

How much would the addition of the New York Times be of the Titanic of 1912?

September 2nd, 2010

I have the original addition of the new york times of the Titanic sinking of April 1912.
I have the original copy of the New York Times of the Titanic. I was just wondering how much an appraisal would be for it, since in 4 years it will be 100 years old. My great grandfather sealed it in plastic. I was just wondering what it might bring at auction. Or if I should just keep it.

Most likely it would have sold for about 3 to 5 cents.

My best guess for an appraisal would be that it might sell for about $100-$200, if it’s in good condition, and if it’s bought by a serious collector. You should look on E*Bay where lots of sellers post old historical newspapers for sale. Watch some of those auctions and you’ll see what they typically go for and you’ll get a good general idea, before you start putting down any money on a serious appraiser.

Where can i find facts on the Colony New York?

September 2nd, 2010

I am doing a project on the new york colony and i need 10 facts, but i just can’t find a good website. Can u?

Here’s a website that might be good for you, although I’m not sure if it will work (at bottom of page). Good luck! Also, maybe you can use this fact:

History’s first submarine attack took place in New York Harbor in 1776!

The Connecticut inventor David Bushnell called his submarine the Turtle because it resembled two large tortoise shells of equal size joined together. The watertight hull was made of 6-inch-thick oak timbers coated with tar. On September 6, 1776, the Turtle targeted the HMS Eagle, flagship of the British fleet. The submarine was supposed to secure a cask of gunpowder to the hull of the Eagle and sneak away before it exploded. Unfortunately, the Turtle got entangled with the Eagle’s rudder bar, lost ballast and surfaced before the gunpowder could be planted.

All you need to do to get more facts is just search "interesting facts on new york colony" or something along those lines and I’m sure a good website will come up.

Is the clothing store New York and Company more like Express or more like The Limited clothing store?

August 30th, 2010

Posted by admin in new york express | 2 Comments »

In your opinion is the clothing store New York and Company more like Express or more like The Limited clothing store and which one do you like more?

New York and Company is more like The Limited than Express. All stores have both casual and business wear. Express tends to cater more tor teens and people in their 20s. Where New York and Company AND The Limited tends to cater more towards people in their late teens to forties (and even fifties). Both Limited and Express are more expensive than New York and Company.
